Our
Goals
-

HOUSING
Our goal is to increase the number of middle-income affordable homes and senior housing. That way, folks who already call New Haven home are more able to stay, and folks who want to move here are more able to join our community.
-

WALKABILITY
Walkability and pedestrian safety is a critical aspect of any lively, rural village. We’d like to our kids to feel safe walking from school to the town green to get a creemee.
-

MUNICIPAL SEPTIC
Any rural homeowner knows how costly septic installation and maintenance can be. Let’s share that resource as a community so that fewer households have to carry those costs on their own.
-

SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
Our goal is to support the amazing farms and small businesses that already exist in New Haven, and foster new business growth wherever possible.
Where we’re focusing our efforts
Greater Village Area: In this area we want to support existing
homeowners who want to build Accessory Dwellings on their
property to help age in place, provide passive income, or create
multi-generational homes
Village Core: Walkable, active village area where we want to
foster development of new multi-family homes such as senior
housing, co-housing, or cottage courts. In this area we want to
create new infrastructure such as sidewalks, bike paths, lighting,
and municipal septic. We also want to support existing
businesses and foster the creation of new ones.
